The Iranian Veterinary Journal is a scientific open access peer-reviewed journal publishing original articles, reviews, short communications and scientific report of a high scientific and ethical standard in the veterinary sciences and related academic disciplines. This journal is published four times per year with twelve articles in each issue published in the Persian language with English abstracts by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. It covers all the scientific and technological subjects of veterinary sciences in general, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bacteriology, Virology, Immunology, Molecular biology, Pathology, Public health, Parasitology, Infectious diseases, Clinical Sciences, Clinical Pathology, Poultry Science, Fisheries, Surgery, Epidemiology, Endocrinology, Nutrition, Welfare, Evolution, Alternative Veterinary Medicine and other Biomedical fields. Papers on all species of animals are considered and a priority publication scheme exists for papers of outstanding merit and topicality.

The Iranian Veterinary Journal is indexed by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Scientific Information Database (SID), Magiran and Google Scholars. The manuscripts are submitted electronically via the journal website at http://www.ivj.ir and after confirmations of the editorial board are sent for peer review by 3 expert reviewers and published following scientific and language editing. The submitted manuscripts are precisely scrutinized and the ones with the highest scientific quality are selected and published in the shortest space of time.

IVJ publishes four issues per year, with occasional special issues coming in addition.
