The present study aimed to detect of campylobacter infection in companion cats referred to the Veterinary Hospital of the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. Risk factors such as age, gender, breed; nutrition status, and lifestyle (open or close environment) were reviewed also. Fecal samples were examined by two methods of culture and PCR from one hundred one of cats (thirty-five diarrheic and sixty six clinically healthy). Only two samples were positive in culture method (1.98%), but Campylobacter species were detected in thirty-seven samples by PCR; which yields an overall prevalence of 36.63%. The most prevalent species of campylobacter among the referred cats were C. upsaliensis and C. coli with 23 and 7 out of 37 identified isolates (62.16% and 18.91%) respectively. A lower prevalence was observed for C. jejuni in four identified isolates (10.81%) and for concurrent infections in two cases (C. coli + C. jejuni) (5.40%) and one case (C. upsaliensis+ C. lari) (2.70%). The prevalence of infection was 57.14% and 25.75% in diarrheic and healthy cats respectively. There was a significant difference for campylobacter infection between the healthy and diarrheic cats in the PCR method, as well as, age, breed; nutrition status and lifestyle showed a significant difference, but there was no significant difference for gender factor in campylobacter infection. In conclusion, because of the frequent presence of campylobacter species in feces of cats, these bacteria can constitute a public health hazard. Accordingly, periodic tests and isolation of diarrheic cats from others are important, especially cats that eat raw meat and live in a shelter.}, keywords = {Campylobacter,culture,PCR,Cat,Ahvaz}, title_fa = {جداسازی و شناسایی گونه‌های کمپیلوباکتر در مدفوع گربه‌های خانگی شهرستان اهواز با روش‌های کشت و واکنش زنجیره‌ای پلی‌مراز}, abstract_fa = {کمپیلوباکتریوز یک بیماری مشترک بین انسان و دام است که موجب اسهال در انسان، سگ، گربه و دیگر حیوانات اهلی و وحشی میشود.  هدف از انجام مطالعهی حاضر، بررسی آلودگی به کمپیلوباکتر در گربه‌های خانگی ارجاعی به بیمارستان دامپزشکی دانشگاه شهید چمران اهواز بود؛ همچنین فاکتورهای خطر نظیر سن، جنس، نژاد، وضعیت تغذیه و روش زندگی (محیط باز یا بسته) بررسی شدند.  در این تحقیق، نمونهی مدفوع از 101 قلاده گربه (35 گربهی اسهالی و 66 گربهی به ظاهر سالم) تهیه و به دو روش کشت و PCR مورد آزمایش قرار گرفتند.  در کشت باکتریایی، تنها 2 مورد از نظر کمپیلوباکتر مثبت بودند (98/1 درصد)؛ اما در روش PCR، 37 مورد آلودگی به کمپیلوباکتر تعیین گردید (63/36 درصد).  شایعترین گونهی کمپیلوباکتر در میان گربه‌های ارجاعی، کمپیلوباکتر آپسالینسیس و کمپیلوباکتر کولای بودند که به ترتیب 23 و 7 مورد (16/62 و 91/18 درصد) از 37 مورد مثبت تشخیص داده شده را به خود اختصاص دادند.  یک شیوع پایینتر از آلودگی به کمپیلوباکتر ژژونی در4 مورد (81/10درصد)، برای عفونت هم‌زمان به گونه‌های کمپیلوباکتر کولای و ژژونی 2مورد(40/5 درصد) و گونه‌های کمپیلوباکتر آپسالینسیس و لاری 1 مورد (70/2 درصد) مشخص گردید.  میزان شیوع در گربه‌های اسهالی و سالم به ترتیب 14/57 و 75/25 درصد تعیین گردید.  از نظر آماری، در روش PCR، ارتباط معنی‌داری بین آلودگی به کمپیلوباکتر در گربه‌های سالم و اسهالی وجود داشت؛ همچنین فاکتورهای سن، نژاد، تغذیه و روش زندگی، تفاوت معنیداری را نشان دادند؛ اما فاکتور جنس تأثیر معنیداری در آلودگی به کمپیلوباکتر نداشت.  در مجموع به دلیل حضور مکرر گونههای کمپیلوباکتر در مدفوع گربه‌ها، این اجرام میتوانند به عنوان یک عامل مخاطرهآمیز، برای سلامت عمومی نقش بازی کنند.  بر این اساس، تستهای دورهای و جدا کردن گربه‌های اسهالی از دیگر حیوانات، به خصوص گربههایی که از گوشت خام استفاده و در پناهگاه زندگی میکنند، اهمیت زیادی دارد.}, keywords_fa = {کمپیلوباکتر,کشت,PCR,گربه,اهواز}, url = {https://www.ivj.ir/article_108215.html}, eprint = {https://www.ivj.ir/article_108215_223bd4b77b929fc72bf3c1f697ac0f53.pdf} }
